MCCOY's Learning Network utilizes the nationally tested Advancing Youth Development curriculum. In this 28-hour learning series, youth development professionals and volunteers learn the basic language and concepts of youth development. Participants also explore youth participation and cultural assumptions about young people, ultimately finding new methods to assess and strengthen their competencies as youth worker. As a member of the national BEST network, MCCOY is pleased to offer this training which was developed by the Academy for Educational Development's National Training Institute for Community Youth Work.
This year MCCOY will offer three series of the AYD curriculum targeted to faith-based volunteers, school-based professionals and new youth workers.
