Basic skills are the skills and competencies required for entry level employment. Between 2004 and 2007, MCCOY worked to bring increased attention to basic skill development and to renew a community commitment to preparing youth for career successes.
Through our basic skill efforts, MCCOY worked to advance the development of basic skills in central Indiana's youth by convening groups to develop action plans, advocating for positive practices in career training and educational systems, and fostering connections between young people and potential employers. We will continue to connect local youth-serving agencies and fields with basic skill resources.
