MCCOY's mission, to be the catalyst for the positive development of youth, demonstrates our organizational commitment to youth development practice and theory. The central goal of youth development approach is to provide young people with the chance to develop all the skills necessary for healthy, engaged, and productive adulthood.
To foster a successful community, we must invest in all young people, with the ultimate goal of preparing them for success both in their youth and in their adult lives. As Karen Pittman, a leader in the youth development field, often says, "Being problem-free is not the same as being fully prepared."
