MCCOY focuses on advocacy primarily as a way to:
- Influence informal systems that affect young people and the youth development field;
- Connect you to the people who work on these issues day in and day out;
- Track local and national legislation and policies;
- Develop policy proposals and recommendations; and
- Link practitioners and other caring adults to youth advocacy organizations.
Positive youth development practice is at the core of MCCOY's advocacy efforts. We seek to advance opportunities and policies that help young people build the skills they need for success from childhood through adulthood.
